The 2026 Bib Gourmand list, and what it means if you eat halal

Michelin gives a Bib Gourmand to restaurants serving good food at a fair price. Phuket has 19 of them in the 2026 guide — more than any Thai province outside Bangkok.

One thing the lists never tell you: by Michelin's own filters, only one of those 19 records halal options, and 13 are cash only. If you eat halal, read the halal guide first and treat this page as the map of what everyone else is queuing for.

    Phuket-style cooking in an old shophouse. The oyster omelette is the order.

    One of two Sino-Portuguese shophouse restaurants that define Phuket Town cooking, and the one locals often prefer for value. The oh-tao, a Hokkien oyster omelette, is the dish to order. Air-conditioned inside with a courtyard; no bookings for small groups.
