Maya Bay is open again from October

What it means for you

From October you can land at Maya Bay again on a Phi Phi day trip — check the itinerary says so.

Maya Bay's yearly closure ended on 30 September. The Department of National Parks closed the bay from 1 August to 30 September 2026 and says it is back in October.

During the closure the parks department counted a record number of blacktip reef sharks in the bay.

Phi Phi trips ran through the closure, without landing at Maya Bay. From October, check that your trip lands there if that beach is the reason you are going.
