Phuket's malls, and what each one is for

Six real malls with addresses, ratings and the honest verdict

Checked 30 July 2026·4 min read·8 places·2 sources

Malls matter more in Phuket than they should, for one reason: from May to October the rain arrives in heavy bursts and the west-coast sea goes red-flag. An air-conditioned building with a cinema and a food hall stops being a boring idea very quickly.

Every mall below was opened on Google Maps before it was written here. The address, the category and the star rating are Google's own, read on 30 July 2026. Opening hours are not printed because they move — check on the day.

In this guide

  1. 1Pick by where you are staying
  2. 2The one we would not send you to first
  3. 3What a mall is actually good for here

Pick by where you are staying

Staying in Patong: Jungceylon, with Central Patong next door and Banzaan fresh market directly behind. That is three different things within one walk, which no other part of the island offers.

Staying in Phuket Town or the Old Town: Central Phuket, which is two connected malls and the biggest thing of its kind on the island. Aquaria, the larger of Phuket's two aquariums, is in the basement of the Floresta side.

Staying in Bang Tao, Laguna or the north: Robinson Lifestyle Thalang. It is the only full mall up there, and the alternative is a long drive south to Central.

Staying in Kata or Karon: there is no mall. Karon Plaza is a fixed bazaar rather than a mall, and the honest answer is that you are driving to Patong or into town.

The one we would not send you to first

Premium Outlet Phuket at Ko Kaeo holds 3.6 on Google Maps. Every other mall on this page is between 4.3 and 4.6. That gap is large and consistent enough to be worth saying out loud.

It is on the page because it exists and people ask about outlet shopping, not because we rate it. If the point of your afternoon is discounted brands, go; if the point is to get out of the rain, any of the others is a better hour.

What a mall is actually good for here

The supermarket. Big C and Tops inside these malls are where you buy sunscreen, water, fruit and snacks at Thai prices instead of resort prices. This is the single most useful thing in any Phuket mall.

The cinema. International releases screen in English with Thai subtitles, and a ticket runs about 255 baht.

Prayer and quiet. Malls are the easiest air-conditioned place to sit for an hour with children, and the food halls are far cheaper than the restaurants around them.

Not souvenirs. Mall prices for the same elephant trousers and fridge magnets are higher than the night markets, and the markets are more fun.

  • Central Phuket shopping mall01

    Central Phuket

The island's biggest mall, and the wet-afternoon fallback. Rated 4.6.

Two connected malls on Vichitsongkram Road just outside Phuket Town — Floresta and Festival. This is the air-conditioned answer to a bad forecast: cinema, food hall, supermarket, and the Aquaria aquarium in the basement of Floresta. Rated 4.6 on Google Maps.

  • Aquaria Phuket aquarium02

    Aquaria Phuket

Large aquarium in the basement of Central Phuket. Rated 4.3.

In the basement of Central Phuket Floresta, and the bigger and newer of the island's two aquariums. Being inside a mall is the point: it works in any weather and there is somewhere to eat on the way out. Rated 4.3. Ticket prices move with promotions, so check before you go.

  • Jungceylon shopping mall in Patong03

    Jungceylon

Patong's mall, a short walk back from the beach. Rated 4.3.

The mall in the middle of Patong, on Rat Uthit Road a few minutes back from the sand. Cinema, chain restaurants, supermarket and a lot of air conditioning. Banzaan fresh market sits directly behind it, which makes the pair a good hour when the beach is not an option. Rated 4.3.

  • Central Patong department store04

    Central Patong

Department store beside Jungceylon. Rated 4.4.

A department store on Rat Uthit Road, effectively next door to Jungceylon, so the two work as one shopping stop rather than two trips. Rated 4.4. Useful for the things you forgot to pack rather than as a day out.

  • Robinson Lifestyle Thalang shopping mall05

    Robinson Lifestyle Thalang

The northern mall, handy from Bang Tao and Laguna. Rated 4.5.

On Thep Krasattri Road in Thalang, and the closest full mall to Bang Tao, Laguna and the northern beaches — which otherwise means a long drive to Central. Supermarket, food court and the usual chains. Rated 4.5.

  • Limelight Phuket shopping centre06

    Limelight Phuket

Small Old Town mall on Dibuk Road. Rated 4.3.

A compact mall on Dibuk Road in the Old Town, on the same lane as the Indy night market and the Limelight Muslim food court. Nothing like the scale of Central, which is why it fits an Old Town afternoon rather than replacing one. Rated 4.3.

  • Premium Outlet Phuket07

    Premium Outlet Phuket

Outlet shopping at Ko Kaeo. The weakest score here: 3.6.

An outlet centre at Ko Kaeo, between the airport road and Phuket Town. Worth knowing it holds only 3.6 on Google Maps, well below every other mall on this page — it is listed because it exists and people ask, not because we would send you there first.

  • Banzaan Fresh Market in Patong, Phuket08

    Banzaan Fresh Market

Pick seafood downstairs, hand it upstairs, eat it cooked. Halal stalls exist.

The fresh market behind Jungceylon in Patong. Downstairs is produce and seafood; upstairs is a cooked-food floor where you can hand over what you bought and eat it at communal tables. Several stalls are halal — look for the green signage.
